How often do we work together?

Working together can take many forms. After your initial evaluation appointment, I ask that you commit yourself to coming to 3 sessions at minimum before deciding if our work together is right for you. Frequency of training really depends on several factors; your needs and goals, previous training experience, how long have you had certain physical limitations/pains, compliance with home workout and exercise routines, budget and availability. The majority of clients work together with me 1x/week. Sometimes we may work 2x/week at the beginning to get traction faster or for those seeking greater support.

I've worked with other trainers before, How are you different?

I approach your sessions and programming from the perspective of how it affects your brain and central nervous system. Very few professionals in this field use a neurological perspective applied to health, fitness, rehab, and performance. In my opinion, all forms of training, physical and otherwise is applied neurology whether you know it or not. When we work together, we know that we are deliberately and accurately applying principles of neurology to enhance performance in a targeted and effective manner.

Longevity in fitness, health and high performance is rooted in good movement and that's where your program will begin. Moving well is paramount to how much weight you can lift or how long you can last on a treadmill.  Often limitations in strength, flexibility, endurance, or due to pain, are influenced by sensory inputs (vision, vestibular, proprioceptive) and our brain's ability to integrate them. Training these sensory inputs are important components of your comprehensive health and fitness lifestyle.

Visual skills and balance skills (vestibular system…your inner ear) are very important elements to your goals, whether they be pain reduction, weight loss, improved sports performance, or general fitness, because of there powerful influence on reflexive muscle tone (aka unconscious stability of your muscular system).

How long do sessions last?

Regular session are 60 minutes.  Initial evaluation appointments are 60-90 minutes.

I've heard people MENTION you do REHABILITATION AND ARE great at PAIN REDUCTION. ARE YOU A PHYSICAL THERAPIST?

No. I am not a physical therapist. I implement a variety of neurologically based training techniques to reduce and eliminate the pain's or limitations that are holding you back from your potential. After removing those, your brain and physical training program will focus on teaching you to move your body with greater ease, efficiency, accuracy, agility, strength, and speed.

Do you take insurance?

No.

Do you make house calls?

If your specific situation requires it and we can coordinate our schedules.  Travel time is billed at my normal hourly rate.
